Athens Trauma Course
Date: 15 May 2026 to 16 May 2026
The 1st Orthopedic Department of the General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas” and the 2nd Department of the General Trauma Hospital “KAT” are organizing the first Athens Trauma Course, which will be held at the Anatomy Techniques and Training Center (ATTC) on May 15–16, 2026.

The primary objective of this course is to explore complex cases in orthopedic trauma, drawing on the collective expertise of the two departments and incorporating the latest evidence from contemporary research. The program will include oral presentations, interactive discussions of real clinical cases, and hands-on cadaveric practice sessions. Each oral presentation will focus on the fundamental principles of approaching and internally fixing intra-articular fractures. Following these presentations, participants will engage in discussions based on real-life case scenarios, collectively determining the most appropriate treatment strategies for each case. Subsequently, cadaveric practice sessions will provide participants with the opportunity to apply selected surgical approaches and fixation techniques.

This course is designed for orthopedic surgery residents and early-career orthopedic surgeons with a special interest in orthopedic trauma. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of advanced intra-articular fracture management of the lower limb, with particular emphasis on pelvic and acetabular fractures.

The program is supported by distinguished international faculty and expert instructors who will share their experience through focused lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on cadaveric training. Through this comprehensive educational format, participants will refine both their decision-making and surgical skills in the management of these challenging injuries
