Athens Trauma Course
Date: 15 June 2024 to 16 June 2024

The 1st Orthopedic Department of the General Hospital of Athens ‘G. Gennimatas’ and the 2nd Department of the General Trauma Hospital ‘KAT,’ are organizing the first Athens Trauma Course, which is scheduled to be held at the ATTC on June 15th and 16th, 2024.

The primary objective of this course is to delve into complex cases of orthopedic trauma, drawing from the collective expertise of the two departments and incorporating the latest findings from published research. The format will include oral presentations, interactive discussions on real cases, and hands-on cadaveric practice sessions.

Each oral presentation will emphasize fundamental principles for approaching and internally fixing intraarticular fractures. Following these presentations, participants will engage in discussions revolving around real-life case scenarios, with decisions regarding the most appropriate treatments for each case being made collectively. Subsequently, cadaveric practice sessions will provide participants with the opportunity to implement the chosen approaches and fixation techniques.

This course is specifically designed for residents of orthopedic surgery in their final years of residency. By participating, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of advanced intra-articular fracture management in both the upper and lower limbs. They will have the chance to practice basic and advanced approaches and apply various internal fixation methods, thus enhancing their skillset in this critical area of orthopedics.
