It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Advanced Shoulder Fracture and Arthroplasty Course. The Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Patras organizes the educational Course "Advanced Shoulder Fracture and Arthroplasty Course", with practical training on cadaveric specimens, which will take place at the ATT Center in Athens on December 9 and 10, 2022.
Shoulder surgery has been developed impressively over the last decades, however it is time to ask ourselves what we really have achieved during this period using new technologies, sophisticated implants and modern surgical techniques.
The scientific program of this 2-day course has been carefully structured and will focus in surgical approaches and treatment of two main shoulder problems, fracture surgery and arthroplasty for glenohumeral arthrosis.
The first day will be focused on educational lectures and training with hands-on practice on cadaveric specimens in fracture surgery. Osteosynthesis (ORIF) will be performed in shoulder specimens.
The second day will be focused on educational lectures and training with hands-on practice on cadaveric specimens in reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) for glenohumeral arthrosis. Of note, new cadaveric specimens will be used the second day.
The faculty consisted of distinguished International and Greek shoulder experts will present current concepts on these topics, and present their experience. It will be a great opportunity for the experienced shoulder surgeons to share knowledge and innovation, while the younger orthopaedic surgeons can attend a high-level Course and at the same time be trained on cadaveric specimens in osteosynthesis and reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
